Sri Lankan Speaker Visit to holy birthplace of the lord Buddha Lumbini

bSpeaker of Sri-Lanka His Excellency W. J. M. Lokubandara and high-level officials paid visit to holy birthplace of the lord Buddha Lumbini on 15 August, 2007.&nsp; The Rt. Hon\'ble Speaker of Parliament Mr. Subash Nembang cordially invites to visit Nepal. HE Speaker was accompanied by His Excellency Sumith Nakandala, Sri-Lankan Ambassador to Nepal and personal secretaries and representative of Parliament Secretariat, Nepal
The team was heartily welcomed in Lumbini by Lumbini Development Trust officials. Senior Archeologist, Mr. Basanta Bidari briefed Mayadevi Temple complex and Mr. Hari Dhoj Rai, an information official explained the Master Plan of Lumbini and threw light on Tourist Arrivals in Lumbini. The team has been visited Sri-Lankan Monastery, Mahabodhi Society Monastery and Lumbini International Research Institute. Speaker and entourage also observed the ancient Shakya Kingdom Tilaurakot Kapilavastu and Kudan the place where the lord Buddha and his father Suddodhan met for the first time after his enlightenment.
